On January 30, 2020, Clark Hudson and Nicole Melvani teamed up to successfully defend in a jury trial an Oral and Maxillofacial surgeon against claims of surgical negligence and fraud. The claims involved a 38-year-old female patient that presented for extraction of her lower wisdom teeth. During the course of extraction, the patient experienced a left inferior alveolar nerve injury. She was referred for immediate nerve repair surgery, at which time the nerve was re-injured in an additional location. The defense maintained both injuries were the product of aberrant anatomy. After a three-week trial, the jury swiftly returned a defense verdict on all counts.
