Board Member, Sheila Trexler Makes a Name for Herself at Neil Dymott

Sheila Trexler, a longtime Shareholder and member of the firm’s Board of Directors, distinguished herself again by being the first woman to become a named Shareholder at Neil Dymott in over 40 years. The firm took on its new name this month as Neil, Dymott, Frank, McFall & Trexler APLC. “I am proud to be the first woman on the firm’s letterhead” says Ms. Trexler.

Ms. Trexler, after a notable career as a critical care nurse, followed by graduation from law school, joined Neil Dymott in 1986 as an associate attorney. In 1993, she became a Shareholder and was elected to the Board of Directors in 2004. Ms. Trexler is among an elite group of female lawyers in San Diego and widely recognized throughout Southern California for her skill as a trial attorney. In 2003, she was singled out by the Daily Journal Extra, as one of the “Top 50 Women Litigators in California”.

Ms. Trexler’s trial practice specializes in the defense of health care providers in medical-malpractice suits and professional-license disputes. In addition to her Juris Doctorate degree, Ms. Trexler also has a B.S.N. nursing degree. She is a member of the prestigious American Board of Trial Advocates, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, the American Association of Nurse Attorneys, and American Society for Healthcare Risk Management. Ms. Trexler is also an adjunct faculty member at California Western School of Law, where she regularly teaches courses on medical-malpractice litigation.
